Maya Angelou

If you ever heard the Voice of this Great Woman just "ONCE" you would never ever forget it's Depth tempo and Expert manipulation of the English language to pretty much "Astound anyone who heard her Speak"

She Made suspension bridges out of every sentence, with load equally shared to each component stressed in emphasis, every paragraph was as carefully constructed as a Bunker, in a War of words, after each intake of breath a Rainbow followed right out of Her mouth... and rained on parched deserts of ignorance, She would be your perfect replacement for a lost Mother. always ready to 'listen' not necessarily speak at all, Her silence was deafening, yet tender as a gentle Hug;

What you got a lot of was a Compassionate Intelligence and So much Soul it blew you away even in a Whisper... Her Heart was like a Large Plowed Field of Silence suffering and misery, which She used to great advantage to relieve Her longsuffering she opened up and 'let it all out'

she had a Supernatural Catharsis, a cleansing that made Her very close to a Holy Woman, like a Saint if you don't know, she was raped at age 8 by a fully grown Black Man, When She spoke His Name, they Lynched Him, (Quite Rightly) BUT...

The Knowledge that Her voice made/caused him to Die, She went Silent and did not speak for 5 years, She was locked in Solitary for a small eternity, until age 13; from the Absence of Her voice came a Mastery of Eloquence to convey feelings by words, and Via 'Her Voice' lost for so long, She became the James Brown of contemporary American Literature, now She is God's Favorite Angelou... She deserves a Pun for Fun, She insisted on having some She was Never an Old Lady, more a Beautiful Child in an Aging Body... Who is like Her? who can replace Her?

Did I mention She is a "Woman of colour"
Does it Fucking matter?
Honour has no such Parameters...

If you cannot Respect Her Genius
then You are the Nigger, not Her:

Behind the meanings:
Why Maya Angelou, WHY TODAY? well, I was listening to the Radio BBC 4 today and there was a play about her life and I sat in a pool of tears remembering Her Mesmerising voice and that Mighty Soul Rocked me shocked me very deeply, we have Stuff in Common...
